Everyday shopping and restaurants are a short drive toward Loop 250/SH 191 or along major arterials; larger retail and entertainment options are concentrated along Midland’s central and southern corridors. The overall vibe is suburban, practical, and work-oriented (oil & energy support).

Driving is the primary and most convenient way to get around — most local trips take 10–20 minutes by car. Ride-hail (Uber/Lyft), local taxis and rental cars are widely available; several rental agencies operate at Midland International Air & Space Port. Intercity bus service (Greyhound/coach) serves Midland at local terminals. Midland does not have Amtrak or regular passenger rail service. Local fixed-route public transit (city bus/EZ‑Rider) runs limited routes; schedules are infrequent compared with larger cities, so plan for car/ride-hail for most trips.
